Beautiful BonefishingNingaloo Reef Bonefishing Charter
Ningaloo Reef on the Coral Coast is one of Western Australia's natural treasures - alive with an abundance of marine life, turquoise waters and dazzling white beaches set against a backdrop of rugged limestone ranges.
Located off the coast near Exmouth in Western Australia, this extensive reef system is over 250 kilometres long and boasts fantastic giant lagoons, with extensive shallow sand flats and crystal clear waters as far as the eye can see.
This fishing paradise offers a range of excellent fishing options, including bluewater and reef fishing, but what really sets it apart is the outstanding Bonefish fly fishing. Until a few years ago, it was generally thought that Bonefish were not prolific in Australian waters. That was until True Blue Bones discovered the first and only Bonefish fishery in Australia. Described by the editor of FlyLife Magazine, Rob Sloane, as 'one of the most significant events in the history of salt water fly fishing in Australia', this place just can't be beaten when it comes to targeting Bonefish on fly.
Your unique Bonefishing adventure begins when you travel north from Perth, flying over the pristine waters of the Pacific Ocean, to Exmouth. Here you'll be met by your True Blue Bones guide before being transferred to your accommodation to drop off your bags. Then it's straight out into the stunning lagoons of the Ningaloo Reef in search of the illustrious Bonefish.
Stalking Bonefish across the crystal clear waters of this tropical lagoon is as exhilarating as any type of fishing you can imagine. Much of the fishing is done by sightcasting, and the cloudless azure sky and small tidal movements combine to create the perfect conditions. The adrenaline you'll feel when you see that flash of colour and the thump on your fly when the Bonefish hits is something you won't forget!
Although the Bonefishing is unique here, the range and diversity of species you can target on fly also makes Ningaloo special. As the water warms up from late September through the summer and autumn, the Permit arrive on the Bonefish flats in large numbers. There is nowhere else in Australian waters that you can cast at Bonefish and Permit on the same flats and expect to catch either one!
The area inside Ningaloo Reef holds numerous other species including Milkfish, Spangled Emperor, Cobia and Sweetlip. The Giant Herring and Tarpon here go seriously ballistic when hooked - the backing knot disappears half a second after setting the hook, and the hooked fish spend almost as much time in the air as they do in the water, with exceptional aerial acrobatics that will have your heart racing!
Further north inside the Exmouth Gulf there are marauding schools of XL Queenfish to be found, along with Giant Trevally that are often just too big to catch on fly unless you are seriously into self punishment!
Over the course of this exclusive Bonefishing Adventure, you'll experience the thrill of catching a hugely diverse range of fish on fly - including billfish in the months of October through to December. All you need to do is let us know what you'd like to experience and learn on your fishing charter, and we'll take care of the rest.
Each night you'll return to your accommodation at the Novotel Ningaloo Resort, situated on Sunrise Beach in the Exmouth Marina, for a relaxing beer or two whilst you watch the stunning sunset across the Exmouth Gulf. And should you wish to enjoy a couple of fishing free days with your partner or friends, there's plenty of activities from sun baking and swimming at beautiful secluded beaches to snorkeling, scuba diving and whale watching.
This Bonefishing Spectacular fishing charter is best enjoyed as a five day, four night package - with the option of booking seven days and fishing and paying for the best five days of fishing and weather. This will give everyone a chance to enjoy the other beautiful attractions the area has to offer, whilst making the most of the best conditions for fishing.
